Position Title: Network Administrator/Technology Support Specialist

Location: Kittery School District

Reports to:  Technology/Safety Director

Start Date:  July 1st, 2025

The Kittery School District is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Network Administrator/Technology Support Specialist to join our technology team. This full-time role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation, security, and advancement of the district's technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will not only possess the technical skills to manage complex systems but also demonstrate leadership potential for the eventual migration of Technology Director responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Administration:
    • Ensure the network is secure, functional, and configured to meet the needs of the district.
    • Manage network infrastructure, including installing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting network hardware and software.
    • Ensure network security with a working understanding of Aruba Central, Palo Alto firewalls, and ApplianSys DHCP appliances.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide first and second-tier technical support to high school students and teachers, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with teachers to effectively integrate technology into instructional practices.
  • Apple Device Management:
    • Manage and maintain a fleet of Apple devices, deploying and configuring iPads and MacBooks using JAMF Pro.
    • Administer and support Apple School Manager, ensuring seamless device enrollment, app deployment, and user management.
  • Google Workspace Administration:
    • Administer and support Google Workspace, including user account management, application configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Interactive Display and Print Management:
    • Support and troubleshoot interactive display technologies, including BenQ and Promethean smart boards.
    • Manage and maintain the Uniflow cloud-based print management system, including user management, print queue administration, and troubleshooting printing issues.
  • Project Collaboration:
    • Work with the Technology Director and Facilities Director to plan and implement district-wide technology projects.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation and training materials for students and faculty.
  • Technology Inventory:
    • Assist with the management and inventory of technology assets.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay current with advancements in Apple, Google, cloud-based print management, and networking technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Apple iPads and MacBooks in an educational environment.
  • Very good working knowledge of JAMF Pro for Apple device management.
  • Demonstrable expertise in Google Workspace administration.
  • Solid understanding of Apple School Manager and its functionalities.
  • Experience supporting BenQ and Promethean smart boards.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting Uniflow cloud-based print management.
  • Working knowledge of Aruba Central for wireless network management.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and ApplianSys DHCP appliances.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across a range of hardware and software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Professional Development:

The successful candidate is expected to pursue and attain certification in Google Workspace Admin, JAMF Pro, and Apple Technical Certifications within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe. The district will support these professional development opportunities.
