The Senior Manager, Epic Imaging Applications plays a critical leadership role within the Information Systems (IS) Division at Children's National Hospital, with oversight of Epic Radiant (Radiology) and Epic Cupid (Cardiology) and their integrated imaging ecosystem. This leader is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of imaging solutions that are vital to diagnostic, interventional, and procedural care delivery.

Reporting to the Director, Epic Clinical Shared Applications, the Senior Manager drives the strategic execution of imaging informatics initiatives, managing a team of analysts and specialists responsible for supporting enterprise imaging workflows, imaging device integrations, PACS connectivity, and clinical documentation tools within the Epic environment.

This position requires a deep understanding of radiology and cardiology workflows, strong technical and operational acumen, and the ability to navigate the complexities of imaging systems in a dynamic healthcare setting. The Senior Manager partners closely with Radiology, Cardiology, and clinical leadership to ensure Epic Radiant and Cupid are leveraged to enhance clinical outcomes, streamline operations, and align with the hospital's commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience. (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical systems support. (Required)
  • At least five (5) years of experience working within a hospital Radiology or Cardiology services setting. (Required)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a formal leadership role overseeing teams, projects, or operational functions is required. (Required)

In addition to ensuring system functionality, this role requires a focus on the broader customer experience and continuous improvement.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Epic Certification (Required)
    • This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained and maintained for the assigned area of responsibility within 6 weeks of completing training, if not obtained prior to hire.

  • Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis – Drive total ownership of Epic-related issues, ensuring timely investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution while implementing preventative measures.
